These terms govern your use of eSIM.co.jp, the eSIM sales service operated by CLAYTON DIVIDE VALLEY CORPORATION ("we", "us").
By using the service you are deemed to have accepted these terms.
"eSIM" means a carrier profile written to the SIM built into your device.
"QR code" means the code we send you to add the eSIM to your device.
"Activation" means the state in which the eSIM has become usable.
We sell data-only eSIMs for international travel.
We are not a carrier. We buy capacity from overseas carriers and resell it; actual quality depends on the local carrier and local coverage.
Voice calls and outgoing SMS are not available except on plans marked "Calls & SMS".
A contract is formed when you select a plan, enter the required details and complete payment.
No account registration is required.
You need an eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked device.
Confirming compatibility is your responsibility; see the Support page before buying.
If the eSIM cannot be activated because the device is incompatible or locked, we refund under clause 9 provided it has not been activated.
The QR code is sent by email and SMS, usually within 30 seconds of payment.
It must be scanned by the deadline shown on the product page. An expired code cannot be used and is not refundable.
A QR code can be added to one device only. A deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled.
This varies by plan and is shown on each product page.
Most plans start when you first connect at your destination. Some start the moment we redeem them from the supplier — that is, at the time of purchase. Those plans carry a warning before you buy.
For plans counted in calendar days, a day ends when the date changes in local time; the equivalent Japan time is shown on the product page.
Prices are shown on each product page and include tax.
We accept credit card, PayPay, LINE Pay and konbini payment.
Internet access charges needed to use the service are your responsibility.
Before activation, we refund in full within the validity period.
After activation, no cancellation or refund is possible given the nature of the product.
Plans whose period starts at purchase (clause 7) cannot be cancelled or refunded, even before the QR code reaches you.
Expired QR codes and profiles deleted by mistake are not refundable.
You must not:
(1) resell or redistribute the product commercially;
(2) act unlawfully or contrary to public order;
(3) infringe our rights or those of third parties;
(4) purchase by improper means or register false information;
(5) breach the local carrier's conditions of use.
We may suspend the eSIM or terminate the contract without notice if we judge that any of these apply, without refund.
Once the data allowance shown on the product page is used, speed is reduced to the stated rate.
Speed may also be limited during congestion or under the local carrier's fair-use rules.
Whether tethering is allowed varies by plan and is shown on the product page.
Plans for Taiwan, Hong Kong and other regions where real-name registration is required by law need your passport details.
The eSIM cannot be activated until registration is complete. If you choose not to register, we refund provided the eSIM has not been activated.
We may change, suspend or discontinue the service because of supplier changes, changes in law, maintenance or other reasons.
Where a plan is discontinued, eSIMs already activated continue for their remaining period.
We are not liable for loss of service caused by local coverage, faults in the local carrier's network, your device's settings, failure or replacement, or force majeure.
We are not liable for lost profits, missed opportunities while travelling, or other indirect loss.
Where a network failure prevents use, we will refund or supply a replacement eSIM.
Our liability is limited in all cases to the amount you actually paid for the plan concerned.
This limit does not apply where we have acted with intent or gross negligence.
Text, images, video and software on this site belong to us or to their rightful owners. Reproduction without permission is prohibited.
You represent that you are not a member of, and have no relationship with, organised crime groups.
If this proves untrue we may terminate the contract without notice.
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may amend these terms when necessary.
Amendments take effect when posted on the site, except that we give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially affect you.
These terms are governed by Japanese law.
The Nagoya District Court has exclusive jurisdiction at first instance over any dispute.
